Audio / Video has always been a great personal interest of mine. Whether it be a 1980’s style boom box, or an all in one home entertainment center, I like it. When I was younger my brother and I pooled all our Christmas money and bought our first “home theater system.” It was a Dolby 5.1 surround system, it even had a DVD player! I think the total output of the system was just over 150 watts. Not super impressive, but man was it cool. We even figured out how to listen to our 13inch TV through the sound system.
Currently I have speakers that have a max output of 500 watts each, and I watch movies and other shows on a 7 foot projected screen. The best part is the whole system looks wireless. I think this is a key factor when dealing with audio and video; it can really detract from a room when there are wires dangling everywhere.
To do this I ran all the wiring through the walls and into the attic or the crawl space. This way I get the immediate response of a wired sound system and the look of a wireless. I learned a lot in setting up my system, and other systems I have set up always leave people pleased with the outcome. Anything from hanging a few speakers to wiring an entire house for sound can be tackled by the Hilger and Associates team!
